The Wisconsin Virtual Academies (WVA) are three public charter schools authorized by the McFarland School District and powered by Stride K12, Inc. (Wisconsin Virtual Academy, Insight School of Wisconsin, and Destinations Career Academy). Our mission is to provide equitable, personalized learning opportunities for students no matter where they are, who they are, or what they need. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and organized candidate for a full-time High School Special Education Teacher position at Destinations Career Academy. This position was added due to growth and will start on August 10, 2026. Destinations Career Academy of Wisconsin (DCA) is an innovative, tuition-free online school for grades 9-12 that combines core academics with industry-relevant, career-focused electives-giving students a jump-start on their college and career goals. While working toward their high school diplomas, students can choose from a variety of courses in high-demand career fields. Students can participate in career-oriented clubs, gain workplace skills, and prepare to take industry-recognized certification exams in their chosen career path upon graduation.
Position Overview:
Special education teachers manage and elevate the learning of students with IEPs using various instructional methods, accommodations, and modifications. Special education teachers meet all IEP-related deadlines and develop compliant, thorough IEPs aligned to student needs. This position is primarily remote with some travel. It is imperative that you are self-motivated, reliable, organized, and passionate about meeting the needs of students.
