The Albany School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE high school science teacher to begin on August 24, 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, effective teaching practices, a 'students first' focus, and a desire for continual professional growth. In addition, the successful candidate will be a colleague who works well with other school personnel, students, families, and the greater Albany community. This position is currently structured to teach mainly high school-level courses. However, flexibility to teach at the middle school level is expected. Course assignments will be based on state requirements, the candidate's strengths, student interest, and the school's needs. We encourage staff to target high-interest and high-leverage content while addressing the essential standards. The input of our teaching staff is essential in this effort.
The District is willing to work with the successful candidate to achieve additional certifications as needed.
