Position: MAIN OFFICE SECRETARY
Work Schedule: 8 hours daily, 212-days per year
Evaluation: after 90-days, thereafter annually
Reports to: Penn High School Principal
Compensation: According to ESP agreement Level III position
Summary: Provide outstanding customer service to visitors and staff who visit or call the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process all payrolls for Penn High School, Pennway, Night School, and PHS Security staff.
Assist with fulfilling employee absences with substitutes.
Greet the public and answer the phone in a professional, courteous manner with attention to customer service.
Perform general clerical tasks (spreadsheets, word processing, proofreading, keyboarding, copying, etc.).
Monitor security camera at entrances and admit visitors following security procedures during summer or non-school days.
Sort mail and assist with large mailings.
Maintain room reservation calendar.
Monitor weather band radio and advise designated personnel of serious weather conditions.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
Cooperatively work with and assist Penn High personnel as needed.
Direct and monitor student interns.
Operate a variety of office equipment.

Qualification Requirements:
I. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
General office skills (i.e. typing, filing, operation of basic office equipment).
Proficient computer skills (i.e. word processing/excel, data entry, internet).
Willingness to improve and/or develop job-related skills.
Excellent time-management skills.
Excellent communication skills-oral, written, and interpersonal. Detail oriented / attention to detail.
Excellent work habits, attendance record and successfully complete and pass all criminal history and child abuse clearances.
Shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her
employment in the Corporation.
