Job Vacancy Details
The High School Liaison for Career and College Promise (CCP) educates high school students about the program and being concurrently enrolled in high school and community college. This position is responsible for counseling high school students; following established pre-enrollment assessment and screening processes/procedures; assisting students with the development of career goal(s) and objectives; helping students identify an appropriate and realistic academic program/pathway and related coursework; registering students following appropriate CCP enrollment policies, processes, and procedures; monitoring student progress and intervening as necessary; as well as providing general student guidance.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Administration, Education or related area; at least three (3) years of professional experience; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a community college or public school environment.
Additional Information
Work Environment: Both office and school-based environments, splitting time between Pitt Community College and assigned high school campuses. The position involves frequent interaction with students, parents, school administrators, counselors, and faculty, requiring strong communication and relationship-building skills. Work is performed in a fast-paced setting that requires balancing multiple tasks, frequent deadlines, and travel between sites. The role requires proficiency with computers, student information systems, and standard office equipment, as well as the ability to present information to groups of varying sizes.
Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary, involving extended periods of sitting, computer work, and advising sessions. It also requires frequent walking across campuses and travel to high school partner sites. Occasional lifting and carrying of materials such as files, program guides, and event supplies up to 20 pounds may be necessary. Effective verbal and written communication, active listening, and presentation skills are essential to support student engagement and program coordination.
Normal Working Hours: Standard schedule, Monday - Friday; Flexibility is required, as occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed to attend high school events, orientations, parent nights, or college fairs. Regular travel to assigned high school campuses within Pitt County and surrounding areas is required as part of daily responsibilities.
