Waterville School District Head Girls Basketball Coach 2026- 2027 School Year $5,035 - $6,545 Depending on experience SCOPE: Oversee the Waterville/Mansfield high school girls' basketball program coaching the varsity team and leading the high school prog ram. Assist the Athletic Director in finding a qualified paid assistant coach (if needed; currently an assistant position is not open). Be involved with the middle school program in some capacity. Develop an interest in girls' basketball school wide. BASI C FUNCTIONS: Communicate well with various individuals, direct practices, organize events, fundraise, motivate student athletes, budget, keep track of inventory, and be present every day. Practices are in Waterville and rotate be tween early and late times (4:30 -6:15 & 6:15 -8pm). QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant should have experience and/or recommendations related to high school basketball coaching. REQUIREMENT S: Applicant must pass necessary checks to be hired by Waterville School, be able to possess necessary medical trainings and also pass necessary trainings assigned by Waterville School and the WIAA. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Complete all school district mandatory Vector trainings before the season begins. 2. Complete all required WIAA classes and standards be fore the season begins. Know all WIAA sport specific rules. 3. Know and enforce all school athletic policies throughout the calendar year . 4. Attend all coaches' meetings assigned by the Athletic Director. 5. Know and follow all ASB purchase requirements. Prepare b udget and make requests months before the beginning of season. 6. Know and follow all school health procedures including filing reports of injuries. 7. Attend all practices, bus trips and games providing constant supervision of student athletes. 8. Communicate appr opriately with all necessary parties (parents, players, administrators, secretaries, Athletic Director) via multiple sources and meetings. 9. Develop and enforce a no tolerance practice for bullying and hazing. 10. Continue and increase your knowledge of this spo rt. 11. Conduct preseason informational meetings and postseason recognition for athletes and parents. 12. Develop squad selection and playing time expectations and philosophy in conjunction with Athletic Director. Deliver information at preseason meeting to parents and players. 13. Develop master schedule of practices and games and deliver to necessary parties before the season begins. 14. Record attendance of athletes daily and report to Athletic Director at seasons end. 15. Organize, record, and file practice plans demonstra ting fundamental instruction, hydration breaks and safety of athletes. 16. Be the first to practice/game and the last to leave making sure all facilities are properly locked and equipment put away. 17. Store, deliver, and collect all basketball program equipment such as basketballs, uniforms, etc... Take accurate inventory annually. 18. Develop whole program including summer and youth involvement/activities. 19. Develop a rapport with the Shockers Booster Club and other community groups. 20.
