East Kentwood High School is seeking a motivated CTE Computer Science Teacher to provide high quality and relevant business curriculum that will support student engagement. Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the CTE BusinessInstructor will develop student business, technology, and innovation skills and competencies as described in the State of Michigan Curriculum for CIP (52.0299 Business Services and Technology).

Successful experience in Business Innovation & Technology instruction preferred. Knowledge of business & innovation and the ability to develop these skills in students. Ability to work in an economically, culturally and racially diverse environment. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and professional networking skills. Experience working in a High School environment is preferred. Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with a focus on student learning. Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement. Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction, by using a variety of styles, and inspire mixed culture and ability classes by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Professional Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with Business endorsement in CTE (CIP Code 52.0299) preferred or other qualifying business related CIP code; Or qualify for Annual Occupational Authorization (ACA). Minimum of two years or 4,000 hours (within last 6 years) of recent and relevant work experience in a business or Information Technology field. Note: The ACA route requires a commitment to attain the appropriate certification and endorsement within 7 years. Valid Michigan Teacher Certification in a core area preferred; including but not limited to: Computer Science NR
