HIGH SCHOOL CASHIER

JOB LOCATION: Watertown High School

SALARY: Grade F - Step 1 - $19.36 per hour

WORK SCHEDULE: 11 Months per year. Hours approximately 7:30 am - 3:15 pm. This position is full time with health and dental benefits, personal day, and general leave (sick) days.

START DATE: July 20, 2026 (or as soon as available)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides bookkeeping, cashiering, and front office support for the school by maintaining student financial accounts, processing deposits, managing school-related collections, assisting visitors, and supporting student services and administrative operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect and process student fees and other payments.
  • Maintain financial accounts for approximately 1,200 students.
  • Reconcile daily receipts and prepare daily bank deposits.
  • Generate monthly fee statements and collect outstanding balances.
  • Establish payment plans and monitor delinquent accounts, including senior obligations.
  • Maintain PSA and athletic activity accounts, reconcile deposits, prepare cash boxes, and provide monthly financial reports.
  • Manage student parking permits and records.
  • Assign lockers and maintain locker databases.
  • Coordinate AP exam payments and records.
  • Support field trip, banquet, homecoming, prom, graduation, and yearbook distribution.
  • Register visitors using RAPTOR, answer phones, direct visitors, and provide attendance office coverage as needed.
  • Some evening events may be required.
  • Additional job duties as assigned by principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Cash handling, bookkeeping, or clerical experience preferred.
  • Experience in a K-12 school environment and familiarity with student fee accounting systems.
  • Proficiency with Skyward, RevTrak, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and standard office equipment
  • Strong customer service, organization, attention to detail, and mathematical skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to relate to parents, students, community, professional staff, and support staff;
  • Exceptional ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Concern for accuracy and attention to details;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently;
  • Organization and attention to detail;
  • Clarity of expression in written and spoken language;
  • Commitment to a positive work environment;

The Watertown School District has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students taught in seven buildings. WHS's 75 teachers and 4 administrators serve 950 students on a 150-acre campus that includes two charter schools - Endeavor Charter School and eCampus Charter School. WHS provides an extensive curriculum for the students, as well as an array of athletic, non-athletic, and academic co-curricular activities for students.

THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community has 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River approximately halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
