POSITION: High School Attendant Clerk

SALARY: Grade 56 (plus local supplement)

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: N/A

WORK WEEK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday

WORK HOURS: 40 hours minimum

NUMBER OF MONTHS PER YEAR: 10 months

POSITION PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the school principal, high school attendance clerks monitor students entering and leaving school during the school day, ensure that students are checked in and out of the school attendance system, and provide assistance to the school principal in monitoring campus safety.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous office experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitors and records student check-in and check-out following school procedures when students arrive late or need to leave early from school.
  • Submits accurate attendance logs.
  • Records and updates absences/tardies on the attendance log and the Student Information System.
  • Notifies parents of unexcused absences.
  • Other duties assigned by the school administrator.

WORKING CONDITIONS PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work is considered moderate physical work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Employees in this position are required to work in indoor and outdoor environments and come into direct contact with OCS staff, students, and the public. Work

may involve hours such as occasional nights or weekends.
