Applicants can apply here for current and/or anticipated vacancies. PRIMPARY PURPOSE: Assist head director with orchestra program and teach/conduct non-varsity orchestral ensembles. Assist with growth and improvement of student musicianship and skills, and of overall orchestral program. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree, in music, music education, or music performance with a concentration in strings, string pedagogy, string music education, or a performance degree on a string instrument or conducting. Valid Texas music teaching certificate or ability to acquire Texas music certification. Special Knowledge/Skills: Be highly proficient on one string instrument as the primary instrument. Knowledgeable and proficient on all string instruments. Have good conducting skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret conductors' scores. Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of overall operations of an orchestralinstrumental music program. Knowledge of state, TMEA, and UIL policies governing orchestra. Experience: Experience performing with a college and/or community orchestra. SALARY: Teacher Salary + Extra Days
