We are seeking an experienced heavy equipment mechanic for a resident field technician role in St. Augustine, Florida. Tend to earth moving equipment (track & rubber tire) and heavy construction machinery. Maintain all systems and components with access to OEM diagnostics, schematics, blueprints, specialty tooling, and continued training.


Compensation:

  • $30.00 - $40.00/hour to start with flexibility for higher starting rate based on experience.
  • Well tooled company service truck provided.
  • Benefits package: health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. 401K with match.
  • Day shift, Monday to Friday.
  • Flexibility needed for earlier start times, extended hours, and OT.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to service calls and travel to customer locations.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, including engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrains.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative service to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Accurately document work performed, parts used and maintain service records.
  • Work closely with the service team, dispatchers, and parts department to ensure efficient and timely repairs.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience maintaining earth moving equipment, road building equipment, and/or aerial equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical bulletins.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computerized diagnostic software.
  • Valid drivers license with driving record in good standing required.
