What You’ll Do
- Execute preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on DEUTZ and non‑DEUTZ equipment
- Diagnose failures and apply the right fix the first time
- Plan repair sequences; pre‑order parts and materials to streamline turnaround
- Perform safe, high‑quality repairs and verify cosmetic finish on completion
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional shop environment
- Collaborate with Parts Specialists and consult the DEUTZ Service Department as needed
- Communicate with customers respectfully and transparently
- Complete work orders and time sheets accurately and on schedule
- Assist with warranty claim preparation and invoicing
- Follow all policies, procedures, and safety practices
How You’ll Grow
- Shop Service Technician (0–2 years)
- Shop Service Technician II (2–4 years)
- Shop Service Technician III (4+ years)
What You Bring
- Self‑starter who operates effectively with minimal supervision
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical thinker who identifies issues, evaluates options, and implements solutions
- Detail‑driven with strong time management and organization
Role Basics
- Reports to: Service Manager
- Supervisory responsibility: None
- Travel: 0–10% domestic
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and at least two years of diesel engine experience
- At least 4 years of shop service technician experience
- Proficiency with basic computer functions and portable diagnostic tools
Preferred
- DEUTZ diesel engine familiarity
- Own set of tools
- Experience with NG/CNG systems and Tier 3–4 emissions diagnostics/repair
- Training/certifications in heavy equipment and diesel repair
Physical Demands & Environment
- Shop-based role; frequent standing and walking
- Potential exposure to weather and loud noise
