Build, Diagnose, and Deliver for Essential Industries

At Custom Truck One Source (CTOS), we keep critical infrastructure moving by designing, building, renting, selling, and servicing specialized trucks and equipment used by utilities, telecom, construction, forestry, oil, and rail. Join a team that backs experts with the parts, tools, software, and training to solve real problems fast.

A day in the life

You clock in Monday morning and tackle a boom truck that failed an inspection. You pull fault codes, analyze engine data, and isolate an electrical issue. By lunch, you’ve replaced a harness, verified hydraulics, and updated the service record. In the afternoon, you perform PM on a digger derrick, then switch to diagnosing a Detroit-powered chassis using DDDL. You wrap the day by submitting a clean, accurate work order and reviewing the week’s safety topic ahead of our monthly meeting.

What you’ll handle

  • Diagnose, repair, and replace worn or damaged components on vocational and utility trucks
  • Perform preventative maintenance and detailed inspections to keep fleets compliant and reliable
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems from chassis to mounted equipment
  • Service truck-mounted gear: boom and bucket trucks, diggers, dump and service trucks, forestry units, and aerial devices
  • Use diagnostic software and scan tools to identify faults and performance issues
  • Complete accurate service records, submit work orders for approval, and track repair costs
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in monthly safety meetings
  • Pitch in with additional duties as assigned

Core strengths you bring

  • Advanced diesel diagnostics and repair across mechanical and electrical domains
  • Preventative maintenance discipline and keen visual inspection skills
