The Diesel Mechanic Level I performs preventative maintenance and repairs on tractor trailer fleets with a schedule of Thursday to Saturday, 3pm-3am.
Responsibilities include basic inspections, diagnosing and repairing tractors (brakes, suspension, transmissions), body repairs (welding), fueling, tire changes, and operating yard spotters. The role requires maintaining a clean work environment, recording maintenance data, and adhering to safety guidelines.
Qualifications include 2-5 years of hands-on repair experience, ASE certifications in Suspension/Steering, Air Brake, Diesel/Gasoline, and Transmission/Differential, experience with Mack/Detroit engines, basic welding skills, and own tools. Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs and pass a lifting test is required. Must be flexible to be on call and perform additional tasks as needed.
