We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for civil construction, environmental remediation, site development, utility, excavation, and renewable energy projects throughout the Northeast.

Description

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction Leadership

Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and competitive bids for civil construction, environmental remediation, excavation, utility, site development, and renewable energy projects.

· Responsible for quantifying building construction components, assembling and estimating labor, material and subcontractor costs for private and public projects, assisting with the preconstruction phase of a project, developing early phase project schedules, and assisting with critical path procurement activities.

· Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, contracts, and bid documents to develop complete project scopes and pricing strategies.

· Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, equipment, material, trucking, disposal, subcontractor, and contingency pricing.

· Establish production rates, crew compositions, equipment utilization plans, and construction sequencing assumptions.

· Develop conceptual, budgetary, negotiated, and hard-bid estimates throughout various project phases.

· Lead estimate review meetings with company leadership and provide recommendations regarding project opportunities and bidding strategy.

· Analyze project risks, schedule constraints, constructability concerns, and market conditions to improve competitiveness and profitability.

· Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative construction approaches.

· Evaluate project opportunities and participate in go/no-go decisions.

· Coordinate complete bid submissions and ensure compliance with client requirements and deadlines.

· Prepare bid tabs, estimate summaries, cash flow projections, and executive bid review packages.

Profile

Qualifications- Required

· 10+ years of progressively responsible civil construction estimating experience.

· Proven experience estimating and winning projects ranging from $500,000 to $20M+.

· Strong understanding of heavy civil construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.

· Demonstrated success preparing bids for public and private sector projects.

· Experience with lump sum, unit-price, negotiated, and design-build procurement methods.

· Proficiency with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, CLI, or equivalent platforms.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

· Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, utility, mechanical, and environmental construction documents.

· Strong understanding of project scheduling, construction sequencing, and cost control principles.

· Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

· Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

· Valid driver's license and willingness to travel periodically throughout the Northeast
