Job Overview:

Supervise construction crews made up of Laborers, Operators and/or Carpenters in civil structural construction projects as assigned. Work with regulating agencies, job superintendents, foreman, subcontractors and others internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Forman that supervise a crew of employees and prioritizes work.
  • Reads and follows plans, material lists and guidelines and applies necessary timelines.
  • Conducts regular safety talks/meetings.
  • Fulfills all regular and advanced construction duties, including project layout, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Organizes, supervises, leads and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe.
  • Enforces all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Enforces all client-required safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements, including crewmember discipline and documentation.
  • Submits crewmembers' timesheets into payroll by deadline.
  • Works with Union halls to conform to the company EEO standards.
  • Attends operation meetings as required.
  • Supports Project Manager in all efforts during construction through completion of project.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Skills: The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate outstanding capabilities in:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team oriented professional work environment and field operations.
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to prioritize a diverse workload.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Working knowledge of construction.
  • College degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent a plus.
