The Heart of House (HOH) Director is responsible for leading all kitchen operations to ensure high-quality food, speed, and consistency. This role drives operational excellence through strong systems, food safety standards, and team development. The HOH Director coaches and develops leaders, maintains efficiency during high-volume periods, and ensures every product meets Chick-fil-A’s quality expectations. They play a critical role in supporting overall restaurant success by delivering consistent execution, minimizing waste, and building a high-performing kitchen team.
HOH Director Responsibilities
• Lead all kitchen operations, including food preparation, production, and quality control
• Ensure consistent execution of food quality, safety, and Chick-fil-A standards
• Drive speed and efficiency in the kitchen to support overall service times
• Develop, coach, and hold kitchen leaders and team members accountable
• Create and maintain systems for prep, inventory, and waste management
• Monitor and improve key metrics (ticket times, waste, food cost, accuracy)
• Ensure proper staffing, positioning, and shift execution in the kitchen
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Partner with FOH and Drive-Thru leadership to ensure smooth operations
• Identify and develop future leaders within the kitchen team
Requirements
• Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced kitchen or restaurant environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Results-driven with attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to work under pressure in high-volume situations
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
