Heart Failure ICU Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - FT Nights - Texas Medical Center Campus
*Rotating weekends & holidays; No call
*12 hour shifts (paid for 40 hrs)
*AGACNP required
*2-3 years of RN or NP Critical Care experience required, Cardiology experience strongly preferred
*New NPs MUST have 2-3 years of RN experience with Critical Care ICU, Cardiac Care, fresh transplants &/or CV Recovery including working w/LVADs & ECMO
*Experience w/heart failure population
*Patient populations include VV/VA ECMO, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Heart Transplant, Lung Transplant, LVAD, Post-op Cardiac Surgery
*8% geographical differential for the medical center
Position responsible for providing comprehensive patient care by systemic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, and in-hospital follow up, affecting direct patient care through the disease process according to the Texas Nurse Practice Act and Memorial Hermann Health System Standards of Care.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas or graduate of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas if area of intended practice is Trauma; Master of Nursing preferred. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with at least two (2) years experience in palliative care or hospice; or Family Nurse Practitioner with Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) certification, or post masters certificate in Palliative Care required if area of intended practice is Palliative Care/Supportive Medicine.
