HEARING & VISION SPECIALIST
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The purpose of this job is to provide hearing and vision screening and rescreening to identify possible barriers to learning. Performs audiograms. Determines referrals. Completes billing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides hearing and vision screening and rescreening for County residents, ages 3-18.
- Records and reviews results, notifies parents and schools, and recommends appropriate medical referrals.
- Researches available financial assistance for medical services; and bills Medicaid appropriately.
- Schedules, coordinates and facilitates screenings at County sites and schools.
- Assists community members in identifying and providing required identification documentation.
- Organizes, tracks, and manages equipment and supplies; orders supplies when needed.
- Performs related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education and Experience
- 6 months + training beyond High School
- Less than 1 year of related work experience working with children and community members from diverse backgrounds
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Certified Hearing & Vision Professional
