Position Overview
We are a growing, multi-disciplinary medical practice in West Los Angeles with 20–25 full-time and part-time employees. We are seeking a Recruiter & HR Generalist to own end-to-end recruiting and core HR operations.
This role is hands-on and execution-driven. The ideal candidate has experience supporting healthcare or medical offices and is comfortable managing recruiting, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, payroll coordination, benefits administration support, and compliance execution. This does not require a senior-level HR executive — practical experience and strong judgment are key.
Core Responsibilities
Recruitment, Hiring & Talent Management
- Own full-cycle recruiting for multiple roles, including:
- Front Desk / Receptionists
- Medical Office Floaters
- Medical Doctors & Providers
- Medical Billers
- Marketing & Administrative Staff
- Create, post, and manage job ads on ZipRecruiter, CareerPlug, Indeed, and similar platforms
- Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews
- Coordinate interviews with managers and providers
- Manage hiring decisions, offer letters, and start dates
- Maintain candidate pipelines and hiring metrics
Employee Management & Performance
- Support and help manage existing staff
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with employees
- Assist leadership with performance evaluations and documentation
- Support and help implement progressive discipline, corrective action plans, and coaching when needed
- Act as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
HR Operations, Payroll & Benefits Support
- Assist with payroll processing, time tracking, and payroll-related employee questions
- Coordinate with payroll providers and leadership to ensure accuracy
- Support implementation and administration of employee benefit programs, including:
- Ensuring benefits are offered, enrolled, and documented correctly
- Answering employee questions regarding benefits
- Maintain employee files and HR documentation
Compliance & Policy Execution
- Help implement and enforce HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable employment requirements
- Support audits, documentation, and record-keeping related to HR compliance
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Manage full onboarding process for new hires, including:
- Offer letters and new hire paperwork
- Orientation coordination
- System access setup and documentation
- Manage offboarding process, including:
- Termination paperwork
- Benefits transition coordination
- Retrieval of all company property, access, and materials
- Ensure all onboarding/offboarding processes are completed accurately and on time
Required Qualifications
- Experience recruiting and supporting staff in a medical or healthcare office
- Experience hiring both administrative and clinical roles
- Working knowledge of recruiting platforms (ZipRecruiter, CareerPlug, Indeed, etc.)
- Basic understanding of HR operations, payroll coordination, and benefits administration
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional communication and discretion with confidential information
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in a multi-specialty or growing medical practice
- Familiarity with California employment practices
- Experience conducting employee evaluations and handling employee relations matters
Schedule & Work Model
- Part-time or Full-time, based on experience and workload
- Onsite presence in West LA required
