Pediatric Healthcare Provider (MD, DO, NP, PA) - Weekend Rotation

Location: Wee Care Pediatrics - Layton, Utah

Schedule: Every Other Weekend | Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM

About Wee Care Pediatrics

At Wee Care Pediatrics, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, top-tier care to children and peace of mind to their families. As a well-established and growing practice, we pride ourselves on building a collaborative, supportive environment where our providers truly thrive.

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Pediatrician (MD/DO) or Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our Layton team. If you are looking for a predictable, alternating weekend schedule that allows for excellent weekday flexibility-or a high-impact role to supplement your current practice-we would love to meet you! We warmly welcome both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic new graduates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Care: Provide high-quality primary and acute care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns to adolescents.
  • Clinical Excellence: Perform thorough physical exams, accurately diagnose and treat illnesses, perform minor procedures, and prescribe medications in accordance with Utah statutes.
  • Diagnostic Leadership: Order and interpret diagnostic tests (laboratory, imaging, EKGs) and manage timely follow-ups.
  • Family Partnerships: Educate and counsel patients and their families on wellness, growth milestones, and disease prevention.
  • Collaborative Continuity: Partner with our robust team of nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to deliver seamless, comprehensive care; arrange external referrals when necessary.
  • Accurate Documentation: Maintain thorough, timely, and compliant patient records within our electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • (For MD/DO candidates): Provide clinical oversight and collaboration for our dedicated mid-level practitioners.

Qualifications

We recognize talent at all levels and encourage MDs, DOs, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants to apply.

  • Licensure: Active (or eligible to obtain) Utah State Medical, NP, or PA license, along with a current D.E.A. Certificate.
  • Certification: Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics (MD/DO) OR current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (with pediatric experience).
  • Life Support: Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to build fast rapport and bring a comforting presence to children and parents alike.
  • Experience: Prior experience in pediatrics or a related urgent/primary care field is preferred, but not required-we are excellent mentors!
  • Credentialing: Ability to meet standard malpractice insurability requirements.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

To ensure a safe and supportive environment, candidates should comfortably meet the following standard physical expectations: regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands for precise clinical tasks; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment is a modern, bustling pediatric clinic with a supportive team at your side.

Ready to Join Our Team?

If you are passionate about pediatric medicine and want to make a meaningful difference in the Layton community on a flexible weekend rotation, we want to hear from you!
