Healthcare Project Manager (PMP Certified)

Location: Bethesda, MD | Onsite

Compensation: $64–$66/hour


Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, PMP-certified Healthcare Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex healthcare initiatives within a dynamic medical environment. This individual will oversee project planning, execution, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and operational improvements while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with healthcare regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in healthcare operations, clinical programs, healthcare IT, or medical services and have a proven track record managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end project management activities for healthcare and medical initiatives
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and communication strategies
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, clinical staff, physicians, operational teams, vendors, and external stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and executive reporting
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, HIPAA requirements, organizational policies, and industry standards
  • Manage project scope, change requests, and stakeholder expectations
  • Track project performance metrics and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to support process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Support healthcare technology implementations, workflow optimization, and clinical program enhancements
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and governance standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, or related field
  • Current PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required.
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience
  • Minimum 5 years of healthcare, medical, hospital, payer, provider, clinical operations, or healthcare IT experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, analytical, and leadership skills
  • Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar platforms
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or related discipline
  • Experience supporting hospitals, healthcare systems, federal healthcare agencies, NIH, CMS, or medical research organizations
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, EMR/EHR systems, and healthcare compliance requirements
  • Experience leading healthcare technology implementations and process improvement initiatives
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
