Healthcare | Member Service Representative

Location: Sacramento, CA

Schedule: Full-time (Onsite) M-F

Overview

Our client, a growing healthcare organization across the West Coast, is seeking a Member Service Representative to support members across multiple health plans. This role focuses on delivering accurate, timely support while resolving complex inquiries and ensuring high-quality member experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to member inquiries across phone, email, chat, and other channels regarding benefits, coverage, and plan details
  • Provide support for walk-in members as needed
  • Investigate and resolve complex or escalated issues, coordinating with internal teams and external partners
  • Assist with claims, billing, and eligibility-related questions from members and partners
  • Document all interactions, including appeals and grievances, in accordance with established guidelines
  • Educate members on available resources, programs, and self-service tools
  • Support urgent or sensitive cases, including access-to-care concerns
  • Identify trends or system issues and escalate to leadership as needed

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of customer service or call center experience, preferably in healthcare or insurance
  • Working knowledge of healthcare plans, benefits, and member services
  • Experience handling escalations, claims, or complex member issues
  • Strong communication skills across phone and written channels
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation accuracy
  • Comfortable navigating multiple systems and learning new platforms
