You will bridge the gap between clinical teams, patients, and families to ensure smooth daily operations. What You Will Do Communication Reception Greet patients, visitors, and staff as the face of the unit. Answer phone calls quickly and route inquiries to the right person. Collaborate daily with the Nurse Manager to support the floor. Clinical Team Support Track urgent STAT orders and specialist consults to speed up care. Monitor patient movement and transfers throughout the hospital system. Alert nursing staff immediately when critical patient needs arise. Administration Logistics Input vital data into system records with high accuracy. Order and restock essential medical and office supplies. Manage files, complete typing tasks, and lead special unit projects. Hourly Pay Rate: $16.87 - $24.88 Qualifications Education: Prefers a high school diplomaorGED. Experience: Requires completing an approved health unit coordinator/secretary programorone (1) year of related work experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Specialized Training: Must complete Valleywise Health computer classes. Certification/Licensure: NAHUC certification is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, andAbilities: Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology and be proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Office. Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people. Requires excellent communication and time management skills. Knowledge of electronic medical records is helpful for the role. Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English. Bilingual is preferred.
