For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the National Park Service (NPS). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Duration

This position is funded for up to 350 total hours.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or Environmental Management OR BA/BS Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Management. OR Previously completed training in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Management

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of Parts 1910 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, ANSI, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable safety and health standards/manuals and policies.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
Duties:

The enrollee will provide professional expertise to the Park in building and establishing a safety program.

  • Undertake an assessment of the existing safety program at CEBE and create recommendations for improvement, including identifying best practices needed to establish a long-lasting safety program that is centered around employee accountability. The enrollee will review past program management and hazard analysis reports and synthesize the data to create the Park?s safety, health, and wellness program. The program will include safety policies and plans that address health and wellness, fire safety, environmental safety, general safety practices.   60%
  • Review and update all existing safety documents and develop strategies or write/update plans to correct deficiencies noted in the park?s safety audit.   30%
  • Assist with populating the new NPS Safety E-tool.   10%

  • Required Certifications: OSHA-related training for safety professionals; credentials, experience and training should be identified in resume.
  • Overnight travel: Overnight travel could be required, depending on enrollee location
  • Air travel anticipated: Depending on enrollee location, air travel may be required
