Part-Time Health Room Nurse Ephrata Area School District Ephrata, Pennsylvania

Position Summary

The Ephrata Area School District is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Part-Time Health Room Nurse to support the health and well-being of students. This position assists the Certified School Nurse in providing health services that promote student safety, wellness, and readiness to learn. Current openings; Akron Elementary and High School

This is a non-exempt, part-time, 10-month position reporting to the Building Principal, Certified School Nurse, and Health Services Department Chair.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid care to students and staff in compliance with district and state regulations, as directed by the Certified School Nurse. • Assist with health screenings, including vision, hearing, height/weight, dental, and physical screenings. • Maintain and update student health records, immunization data, and emergency information in PowerSchool. • Perform clerical duties related to health services, including data entry, correspondence, and attendance adjustments when students are dismissed due to illness. • Assist with inventory, organization, and ordering of health room supplies and forms. • Support documentation and recordkeeping for health programs and screenings. • Communicate respectfully and effectively with students, parents, and staff. • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all health-related matters. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Certified School Nurse, Principal, or Director of Health Services.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

• RN or LPN diploma from an accredited institution • Valid Pennsylvania RN or LPN license • Certification • Current CPR/AED certification

Experience & Skills

• Community or school health experience preferred • Ability to assess student health needs and work independently • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with diverse populations • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Part-time, 10-month position • Salary and hours in accordance with the current support staff schedule

• Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. • Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members. • Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner. • Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority. • Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office. • Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbook

Other Requirements

• Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: • Act 34 - PA Criminal Record • Act 114 - FBI Background Check • Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance • The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health. • Hourly rate based on experience
