Position: Entry-Level Health Information Specialist

Shift Schedule:

  • In-office position

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available

  • On-call rotation required (every third weekend)

As a health information specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • entering physician orders, resident data, and employee information into the Electronic Health Record in a timely and accurate manner
  • working with documentation sheets and maintaining appropriate records, lists, and reports generated by the system for facility use
  • assisting with audits
  • maintaining all records in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • ensuring integrity, privacy, and confidentiality of all data

Position Requirements:

  • completed coursework in anatomy physiology and medical terminology
  • experience with data entry
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • understanding of basic HIPAA practices and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical records is necessary
  • computer proficiency with the Electronic Health Record system and Microsoft Office products, as well as other office equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • previous health information experience
