This position maintains medical records and performs clerical duties in the department.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and medical records, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, coursework and/or degree in Health Information Management.
Working experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as data entry and keyboarding experience.
Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding, preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong telephone and customer service skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of productivity with minimal supervision.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Demonstrates ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
Understands and is committed to the hospice philosophy.
