MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Public Health or related Bachelor's degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CHES certification.
Background in health communications, training facilitation, strategic planning and multi-program coordination.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess valid Michigan driver's license.
Must have vehicle available for use on County business.
Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours on weekdays and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY: The Administrative Health Educator advances Genesee County Health Department's mission to protect and improve the health of Genesee County residents through education, outreach, and community engagement. This role supports a broad range of public health initiatives by developing evidence-based programming, building meaningful partnerships, and delivering culturally responsive communications across diverse populations.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and deliver presentations, training, and educational content for diverse partners including clinics, schools, non-profits, and community organizations;
- Design adaptable health education materials such as brochures, flyers, toolkits, and referral resources that are tailored for varied audiences including healthcare providers, social service agencies, and the public;
- Research evidence-based best practices and apply established behavioral health theories to develop, implement, and continuously improve programming that drives meaningful behavior change across priority populations;
- Apply principles of cultural humility to ensure all programs and materials are inclusive, respectful, and responsive to the lived experiences of diverse and at-risk populations;
- Manage digital communications including social media content creation, website editing, and development of automated tracking and reporting forms;
- Support program teams with graphic design, data visualization, outreach communications, and logistical coordination to advance organizational goals;
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating public health programs through data tracking, needs assessments, and outcome reporting;
- Maintain shared team resources, facilitate collaboration through tools like SharePoint, and disseminate relevant training and toolkits across health educator networks.
