NIKA is hiring for a Health Care Interior Design/Health Care Planning Support to support our client in Falls Church, VA. The role is contingent upon contract award.

Job Description:

  • Provide expertise in healthcare interior design and planning for military medical facility projects, ensuring compliance with Department of War (DoW) Space and Equipment Planning Criteria for Medical Facilities.
  • Support project planning and design review efforts, including space planning, utilization studies, and coordination with end users, providers, and local command activity consultants.
  • Assist in facilitating and documenting design reviews, providing guidance to executive leadership on operational requirements and design layouts through iterative space utilization analysis.
  • Provide input to and refinement of programming documents, business planning consultation, and analysis of previous studies (e.g., HCRA, Deficiency Tabulation, Facility Utilization Study).
  • Gather and analyze projected workload requirements to recommend staffing, equipment, IT, and space needs for project offices and transition management activities.
  • Assist with space planning, equipment and furniture procurement coordination, operating procedures, interior design, move planning, and budgeting for designated projects.
  • Ensure all tasks are consistent with master and strategic plans and project Design Intent, supporting the use of DoW's Space and Equipment Planning System (SEPS).
  • Support IO&T contractors/vendors in operational planning, signage/wayfinding, move sequence planning, and preparation of teaching plans and relocation execution.
  • Monitor equipment installation, integration of logistics, personnel staffing, training, and operational support services for deployment of initial supplies, medical equipment, and materials.
  • Provide recurring project-related reports, presentations, and documentation as required by DHA Program Manager or designated government representatives.
  • Participate in meetings, teleconferences, and coordinate associated actions as required.
  • MUST be US citizen and have ability to obtain security clearance
  • 5-7+ years of experience in healthcare projects and 1+ years working with NAVFAC and/or USACE on medical projects.
  • Must be knowledgeable with SEPS and experience in DoW Space and Equipment Planning Criteria for Medical Facilities.
