ApplyDescriptionJob SummaryThe Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach fulfills the mission of St. Joseph Catholic School by developing, collaborating, and administering the program in a way that adequately prepares our student-athletes for the highest level of interscholastic competition, and beyond. The Head Coach plans and runs practices, collaborates with all assisting personnel, communicates effectively with parents and staff, and fosters relationships beyond just the Varsity team, such as with the Junior High, who are the next generation of SJCS athletes. The regular season runs from October through February. The off-season before and after those months is an opportunity to further the development of a strong basketball culture, in a school which demonstrates above average levels of physical fitness and participation in Athletics. Summer camps / sport-specific instruction (SSIs) may take place throughout June and July. This is a stipend position. Open teaching positions may be linked for the right candidates. Stipend-only positions are not benefits-eligible. We are a TAPPS member school.Coaches fulfill the mission of our Catholic school by developing, initiating, and administering the program in a particular sport which adequately prepares student-athletes for interscholastic competition. Coaches are recommended to the Head of School by the Athletic Director, hired by the Head of School, and evaluated in consultation with the Athletic Director.Ministerial CharacterCatholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations.
