Minimum Qualifications For Admission to Examination Applicants must meet one (1) of the following:Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; PLUS certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA).Possession of an Associates degree or higher degree from an accredited college in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or in an equivalent education major in which the primary focus of study is the care and development of preschool children (i.e., children 3 to 5 years-of-age).Possession of an Associates degree or higher degree from an accredited college in any subject, including at least eighteen (18) credit hours of coursework relating to ECE.NOTE: Coursework relating to ECE may include courses offered in various departments (e.g., Education, Music, Art, Library Sciences, Physical Education and Recreation, Psychology...etc.); however, this coursework must address early childhood education or child development with a focus on children ages 3 to 5 years.
