Role description:

Work closely with hardware teams to source and procure mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components for prototype and production hardware.
Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for machining, fabrication, electronics, and cable assemblies, focusing on quality, cost, and lead times.
Work with engineering teams to translate bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and technical requirements into sourcing plans.
Manage RFQs, supplier negotiations, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
Track supplier performance across cost, quality, and schedule metrics and address issues when they arise.
Support rapid prototype builds by expediting critical components and coordinating with vendors.
Identify supply chain risks such as long lead times or single-source suppliers and implement mitigation strategies.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while helping introduce new vendors and manufacturing capabilities to hardware teams.

Desired qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or sourcing for hardware products.
Experience sourcing machined components and electromechanical assemblies.
Familiarity with engineering documentation such as drawings and bills of materials.
Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
Experience working with engineering teams in hardware development environments.
U.S. work authorization and ability to obtain a security clearance.
