The Head of Finance serves as the senior financial leader for the global organization, responsible for shaping and executing the financial strategy to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and long-term enterprise value. This role partners closely with the Founder & CEO, President & COO, and Senior Leadership Team to align financial performance with strategic priorities across all business verticals.

The Head of Finance oversees all aspects within all operating countries and businesses within the areas of financial management, including planning, reporting, capital allocation, and risk management, while building scalable financial infrastructure to support a growing and increasingly complex organization.

Principal Functions of the Job

Key responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the President & COO and SLT on financial strategy, capital allocation, and enterprise growth decisions
  • Translate business strategy into financial plans, forecasts, and actionable insights
  • Support long-term value creation, including IRR targets, EBITDA expansion, and portfolio optimization
  • Provide financial leadership across multiple business units (e.g., operating companies, investments, real estate, etc.)

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
  • Develop and monitor key financial KPIs (revenue growth, margins, cash flow, return metrics)
  • Deliver clear, timely, and board-ready financial reporting and insights
  • Build scalable FP&A processes and tools to support enterprise decision-making

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely close processes
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements across jurisdictions
  • Lead preparation of consolidated financial statements and board reporting materials
  • Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies

Capital Management & Investments

  • Lead capital planning, liquidity management, and cash flow optimization
  • Support M&A strategy, including due diligence, valuation, structuring, and integration from a Finance perspective
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and provide financial modeling and risk analysis
  • Manage relationships with lenders and financial institutions

Risk Management & Governance

  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance frameworks
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks across the enterprise
  • Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements (U.S. and international, as applicable)
  • Support board governance, including audit and finance committee engagement

Operational Finance & Infrastructure

  • Build and scale finance systems, processes, and reporting capabilities to support growth
  • Drive efficiency and discipline in cost management and resource allocation
  • Partner cross-functionally (People, Legal, Operations) to align financial and operational strategies
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, including accounting, FP&A, and potentially treasury/tax

Global Finance & Enterprise Leadership

  • Serve as the enterprise-wide finance leader with full accountability for global financial strategy, capital structure, and consolidated performance across all operating countries and business verticals
  • Oversee global treasury and tax strategy, including risk management, intercompany funding, FX exposure, and international cash optimization
  • Design and scale a global finance operating model – systems, processes, and governance frameworks that support multi-country operations and enterprise growth
  • Act as the primary financial partner to executive leadership and the Board, presenting global performance, risks, and strategic recommendations

Experience

  • 10–15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior-level or CFO-equivalent roles
  • Experience in a high-growth, founder-led, or multi-entity organization strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with M&A, capital allocation, and multi-business financial oversight
  • Experience operating across multiple geographies (U.S. and international) preferred
  • MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred

Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required

  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into financial outcomes
  • Deep technical expertise in finance, accounting, and financial modeling
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence and partner at the board and SLT level
  • High degree of ownership, accountability, and sound judgment in ambiguous environments
  • Ability to build scalable systems and teams in a growing organization
  • Broad financial experience including senior financial leadership roles in finance or tax in corporate and/or public accounting firms, including experience building financial strategic plans.
  • Financial experience or ability in FP&A, Capital Structure, Capital Allocation & Portfolio Management, M&A.
  • Global experience – specifically Italy, a plus.
  • Multi-industry experience or a desire to research and learn new industries.
  • Strength in developing internal and external relationships; collaborating with senior leaders and Board members; and senior leaders to improve P&L and cash flow drivers.
  • Experience with banking relationships, financing treasury/debt management and cash management.
  • Capable of creating from scratch and refining new processes. Does not require systems and processes already set up; willing to be hands on.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Is adaptable and learns quickly.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Driven, self-starter with detail-oriented personality and strong work ethic.
