Position Summary
DESCRIPTION:
The Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach is responsible for administering all aspects of the varsity men's and women's tennis programs; and performing assigned administrative duties within the Athletics & Recreation Department.
OUTCOMES:
- Sustained, effective recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
- Provision of a healthy and aspiring team environment, conducive to positive athletic and academic results.
- Efficient and thorough administration of College, Department, NCAA, and CAC policies and functions.
- Positive contributions to York College's enrollment pursuits and institutional image.
- Effective support for the Athletics & Recreation Department through administrative duties
Essential Functions
Tennis Coach 85%
- Oversee the preparation, execution, and follow-up of all organized activities of the varsity men's and women's tennis programs, including, but not limited to: practices, competition, team travel, and community service.
- Recruit qualified student-athletes through NCAA-permissible methods.
- Promote student-athlete retention and satisfactory progress through NCAA-permissible academic and athletic support.
- Efficiently manage administrative duties (scheduling, budget control, fundraising, etc.).
Assigned Administrative Duties 15%
- Assist other directors in one of the following areas: event management, departmental fundraising, strength and conditioning coaching, admissions collaboration, camp coordination, compliance assistance, facility oversight.
Experience and Education Required
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in collegiate tennis, intercollegiate athletics, and administration.
- Familiarity with NCAA governing rules.
- American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
