Job SummaryBasic Function The Head Mens and Womens Cross Country Coach is responsible for the overall leadership administration and success of the intercollegiate mens and womens cross country programs. This part-time position carries the full responsibilities of a head coaching role including program development recruiting academic oversight compliance fundraising and community engagement. The Head Coach is expected to operate both programs in alignment with institutional conference and NCAA regulations while fostering a culture of competitive excellence integrity and holistic student-athlete development.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree Masters preferred Collegiate coaching experience or competitive collegiate cross country andor track & field experience Strong recruiting organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications Previous head coaching experience Demonstrated success in recruiting and program building Experience with fundraising and alumni engagement Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Job Duties Description of Job Duties
Program Leadership & Administration Provide vision leadership and strategic direction for the mens and womens cross country programs Organize and conduct all practices competitions and team activities Develop training plans that promote peak performance and injury prevention Coordinate competition schedules in collaboration with the Athletics Department Monitor and responsibly manage program budgets Maintain oversight of equipment uniforms and team gear
Recruiting Identify evaluate and recruit prospective student-athletes for both programs Maintain consistent communication with prospects families high school coaches Coordinate official and unofficial campus visits
Student-Athlete Development Promote academic achievement and monitor academic progress Foster leadership sportsmanship and personal growth Support retention persistence and degree completion
Compliance Maintain thorough knowledge of NCAA conference and institutional rules Ensure compliance in all areas including recruiting eligibility and financial aid Complete required compliance documentation and reporting in a timely manner
Fundraising & External Engagement Assist with fundraising initiatives to enhance program resources Cultivate relationships with alumni donors and community supporters Participate in departmental and institutional advancement activities Represent the programs positively within the campus and local community
Administrative & Departmental Responsibilities Attend departmental meetings and required trainings Collaborate with athletic training strength and conditioning academic support and compliance staff Support departmental initiatives and assist with game-day or event operations as assigned
