Saint Joseph's College of Maine is hiring for the position of Head Coach - Women's Flag Football!

Saint Joseph's College of Maine has added Women's Flag Football as its newest varsity sport, becoming the first collegiate institution in the State of Maine to sponsor the sport at the NCAA varsity level!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Head Coach supports the department of Athletics by being responsible for the management and administration of the Women's Flag Football program; leading Athletic Department efforts in specific areas; providing supervision and development of staff; creating and establishing sports camps and clinics and adhering to and enforcing all policies, goals and procedures of the Athletic Department and College.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Head coaching experience is preferred
  • Experience recruiting student-athletes preferred
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Must have a valid driver's license, complete a driver training program and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

SCHEDULE:

  • This is a full-time 11-month position August through June
  • Evening, nighttime, and weekend hours are required through attending athletic contests and campus events
  • Meets on a regular basis with the Co-Directors of Athletics
  • Weekly/daily schedule will be determined by game schedule -- to be regularly reviewed and determined with the Co-Directors of Athletics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of this sport and applicable rules
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, recruitment strategies
  • Must be CPR/AED certified and must maintain certification
  • Must take annual NCAA Compliance exam
  • Must have a valid driver's license, complete a driver training program and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills
  • Proven training, coaching and mentoring abilities
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Computer competence in word processing, creation of slide presentations, database management and electronic mail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of general office operations
  • Must demonstrate teamwork skills and a willingness to help others
  • Possesses a positive attitude to foster a cohesive working environment
  • Possess a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and support for SJC community members
  • Tolerates work-related stress effectively, maintaining professionalism and adherence to core values in all interactions
