Job Overview
Serve as the Head Coach of the Men's Golf Team. This position reports to the Athletic Communications Director. This person will operate with a committed understanding that in the pursuit of athletic excellence, we also seek to develop students for Christian life and service. This is a part-time position and pays $18,000-$20,000 annually.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Coaching Leadership
Manage, support, and direct all aspects of the men's golf program
Comply with the mission and vision of Wheaton College; adhere to all College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and NCAA rules and regulations
Recruit, select, and retain a minimum of 8 team members that reflect the profile of Wheaton College students
Establish and monitor team standards
Schedule all contests with input from the supervisor as needed
Conduct appropriate training and practices to prepare teams for intercollegiate competition
Select and supervise assistant coaching staff that represent the convictions of Wheaton College
Secondary Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
Provide leadership and Christian discipleship to current student-athletes
Encourage and develop personal relationships with student-athletes
Serve as a consistent role model and resource for student-athletes
Cultivate a team culture that engages in prayer, worship, and scripture reading
Encourage a holistic environment for the well-being of student-athletes
Administrative Leadership
Ensure all administrative duties related to team management are completed in a timely manner
Direct the operations of all home golf events including team management, scheduling of officials and event-day personnel, and reporting results to the Sports Information Director's office
Manage and operate within the annual men's golf program budget and participate in the annual budget planning process
Schedule and oversee team transportation to and from away contests
Attend departmental staff meetings with participation in committee work as needed
Cultivate relationships with men's golf alumni through E-newsletters and alumni golf events
Cultivate a relationship with the men's golf Faculty Partners

Physical Requirements
The person in this position must be able to drive/transport athletes; set up and take down golf equipment; and to lift, move, and carry up to 25lbs.
