Khyber Pass Pub is hiring a hands-on Head Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, lead and develop the BOH team, and maintain consistency in a fast-paced restaurant known for Southern-inspired cuisine, live events, and strong year-round business.

About the Role
This is a hands-on kitchen leadership position responsible for daily BOH operations, food quality, labor management, inventory control, team development, scheduling support, and service execution.
You'll provide leadership during busy service periods while helping maintain consistency, accountability, and organization throughout the kitchen.

Known for its Southern, Cajun, and Creole-inspired menu, extensive beer selection, craft cocktails, and live events, the restaurant combines a lively pub atmosphere with a strong food program and consistent year-round guest traffic.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations
- Lead and develop BOH employees
- Maintain food quality and presentation standards
- Manage inventory and purchasing
- Monitor food cost and labor performance
- Support scheduling and staffing needs
- Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance
- Coordinate kitchen execution during events and high-volume service periods
- Partner with ownership on operational improvements and menu initiatives
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Head Chef, Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Sous Chef leadership experience
- Experience leading high-volume restaurant kitchens
- Strong food cost and labor management skills
- Knowledge of Southern, Cajun, and Creole cuisine preferred
- Experience with Toast or similar restaurant management systems preferred
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop kitchen teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable managing teams of 20+ employees
