Primary Purpose:
The Allen ISD Head Cheer Coach will serve as the high school varsity head coach and lead the district cheer program including all middle school and high school squads. Provide instructional strategies to develop technical skills, safety, and excel in the sport of cheerleading. The primary goal for the Coach is to facilitate skill development with an emphasis on safety, and appreciation for the values of community, spirit, sportsmanship, and cultivate an increased level of self-esteem, character, and pride for their students and team.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).
- C.P.R certified in first aid, and AED.
- AACCAA certification preferred.

- Ability to instruct students with excellence in skill, spirit, conduct, and leadership.
Experience:
- Two years' experience as a Varsity level cheer coach preferred or related private cheer coaching work experience.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies
- Lead Varsity practices, performances, competitions, and other group activities.
- Attend JV, Freshman, and middle school squad class practices on a weekly basis to assist and ensure vertical alignment and safety.
- Attend JV, Freshman, and middle school squad after-school activities as schedule permits.
- Plan and participate in cheer try-outs at high school and middle school.
- Establish and maintain a performance criteria for all cheer activities, including but not limited to athletic events, pep rallies and campus events, cheer competitions, and any other related cheer activity.
- Prepare warm-up routines/practice exercise and skill development for the unit.
- Choreograph, arrange, and implement UIL, sideline, and game day routine(s).
- Evaluate athletes' abilities and design performance tasks, and assignments accordingly.
- Instruct members in basic and advanced stretching, skill development and cheer related techniques.
- Oversee and coordinate the program's participation in the UIL State Contest.
- Ensure the highest possible level of performance for all cheerleaders through proper warm-up processes, effective preparation, and attention to individual members needs and overall development.
- Work/fulfill a flexible, varied schedule which includes regular reporting as well as night and weekend activities at various times of the year.
Budget and Inventory
- Ensure that the cheerleading booster and campus budgets are properly
- Assist in the management of all equipment and uniforms necessary for rehearsals and performances, including maintenance and repair.
- Assist in the selection and acquisition of new equipment, uniforms, and materials, ensuring that purchases are within budget allocations and meet all district purchasing guidelines.
Student Growth and Development
- Provide timely feedback to students and track progress through a variety of methods.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.
- Be a positive role model for students by modeling behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Support the graduate profile and mission of the school district.
Classroom/Squad Management and Organization
- Create classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Apply, manage, and enforce student behavior and sportsmanship in accordance with AISD Cheer Guidelines and the AISD Student Code of Conduct.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Accompany and supervise students and volunteers on out-of-town trips.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Communication
- Be available by phone, email, or in person to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents.
- Under guidance of the Principal, establish and maintain communication with students, parents, and staff.
- Establish and maintain a professional cooperative relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.

Professional Growth and Development
- Participate in staff development and leadership development to improve job related skills and participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
Cheer Leadership
- Oversee all cheer programming, management of cheer guidelines for 7-12 grade program.
- Manage budget allocation for AHS cheer program.
- Establish performance requirements, enforce UIL academic requirements, and verify student eligibility for participation in all cheer activities.
- Organize and plan cheer performances for the campus, athletics events, and community as requested by the campus and/or district administration.
- Prepare students to participate in all UIL competition, as well as local, state or national competition with an accredited cheer organization.
- Arrange transportation, lodging, and meals as needed for Varsity level cheer events and any designated travel; ensure adequate supervision of students for all off-sight performances.
- Establish and maintain a positive, school appropriate structure for all cheer music, uniforms, and performances.
- Lead and support the cheer booster club activities.
Other
- Ensure that all volunteers and contractors have completed the district's background check and participation process.
- Plan and assign work to volunteer(s) and oversee completion.
- Demonstrate superior customer service with district staff, students, and community stakeholders.
- Maintain and update all compliance certifications for cheer coaches.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee, train, evaluate, and support stipend cheer staff in their cheer coaching capacity. This includes varsity assistant coaches, JV and Freshman coaches, and all middle school coaches.

Salary: Pay Grade PG00/Stipend, $329.41 - $374.14 daily rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule.
