Smyer ISD is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and dynamic Head Boys Basketball Coach to lead our program. We are looking for an individual who is committed to building a winning culture on the court while developing high-character student-athletes in the classroom and the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and execute effective varsity practices, off-season programs, and game-day operations.
  • Oversee, align, and mentor assistant coaches and junior high basketball staff.
  • Manage the girls basketball budget, equipment, and inventory.
  • Monitor the academic progress, behavior, and attendance of student-athletes.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all Smyer ISD policies and UIL rules and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
  • Previous high school coaching experience (Head coaching experience preferred).
  • Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or willingness to obtain one.
