Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician (Shop & Road Service Roles) – Up to $120K+ Annually

Location: Plymouth Meeting, PA
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Shop Role) + Rotating On-Call (Road Service Role)
Pay Range: $30–$48/hr (Based on Experience)
Estimated OTE: Approximately $120,000+ Annually
Bonus Opportunities: On-Call Bonus Pay (Road Service Role)

Promotive is hiring experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Technicians for a leading fleet service provider in Plymouth Meeting, PA. This opportunity offers two career paths: an In-Shop Diesel Technician position and a Road Service Diesel Technician role, allowing candidates to pursue the environment that best fits their skills and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

In-Shop Diesel Technician

  • Diagnose and repair Class 6-8 diesel trucks across multiple makes and models
  • Perform DOT inspections and complete required documentation
  • Repair engines, drivetrains, suspension, steering, brake, and electrical systems
  • Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled service work
  • Perform DPF, DOC, APU, and hydraulic system repairs
  • Assist with welding and fabrication projects as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Road Service Diesel Technician

  • Perform on-site diagnostics and roadside repairs for trucks and trailers
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns involving brakes, air systems, lighting, fuel systems, and drivability concerns
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment, including Pro-Link and Diesel Laptop platforms
  • Maintain service truck inventory, tools, fluids, and repair supplies
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers throughout service calls
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
  • Represent the company professionally during roadside service situations

 

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician or Heavy-Duty Mechanic
  • PA Safety Inspection License (Required)
  • PA Emissions License (Required)
  • Class A CDL License (Required)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and heavy-duty equipment
  • Mobile service experience preferred for Road Service Technicians
  • ASE Certifications preferred
  • ASE S7 Heavy Duty Truck Certification preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Comfortable participating in an on-call rotation (Road Service role)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
