    Description

    Core responsibilities: 

    Logistics & Route Planning:  

    • Logistically efficient route planning. 
    • Obtaining necessary over-dimensional permits. 
    • Dispatch loads based on driver and/or carrier equipment abilities.  

    Team Leadership:  

      • Supervising internal heavy haul drivers. 
      •  Coordinating with heavy haul drivers and vendors to cover daily dispatch.  
      • Manage all loads via dispatch software and driver use compliance.  

      Fleet Maintenance:  

      • Report new heavy haul needs and fleet readiness as requested. 
      • Scheduling routine truck/trailer maintenance. 
      • Inspecting fleet for DOT compliance and road worthiness.   

      Administration:  

      • Approving direct reports timesheets. 
      • Issuing purchase orders for external moves. 
      • Requesting work orders for internal truck repairs. 
      • Management of daily dispatch via dispatch software. 
      • Generate internal truck revenue reports.   
      • Verify daily moves via dispatch software.  
      • Negotiate and maintain standard haul rates for bidding purposes.  
      • Negotiate haul rates as needed for special out-of-town projects. 

      Safety & Compliance:  

      • Enforcing OSHA and DOT regulations 
      • Conducting safety briefings 
      • Overseeing load securement. 
      • Maintain driver books for DOT paperwork compliance. 

       Requirements: 

      • 5 years of experience in trucking dispatch, with at least 1 year specifically focusing on heavy haul, flatbed, or specialized over-dimensional freight preferred. 
      • Proven track record of navigating state DOT regulations, specific axle-weight limits, and local permit approval processes. 
      • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. 
      • Clear understanding of specialized heavy haul trailers, including Removable Goosenecks (RGNs), step-decks, lowboys, and multi-axle configurations.
