Job Description

We are seeking a Hardware Project Engineer to join our team onsite. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electronic systems, PCBA and embedded systems, and requirements management and a proven ability to deliver space electronics from development through production with verified performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the responsible engineer in development and production of custom space electronics; support senior lead on complex projects.
  • Manage and review product requirements with internal and external stakeholders across the development lifecycle.
  • Derive design and test requirements to meet performance, functionality, reliability, and manufacturability objectives.
  • Collaborate with designers to validate concepts through trade studies and analyses.
  • Allocate requirements to functional disciplines and coordinate verification activities to closure with documentation.
  • Author and review engineering analyses and reports; ensure data deliverables meet specifications and schedules.
  • Author test procedures; assist in design verification and production hardware testing.
  • Read and interpret PCBA schematics; use lab equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot to component and IC level.
  • Resolve nonconformances during manufacturing and test, lead FRB meetings, and drive RCCA activities.
  • Serve as primary point of contact during 24/7 product testing campaigns as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in electronic systems with at least one of: PCBA design, embedded processor software design, or requirements management.
  • Proven experience authoring, managing, deriving, and verifying requirements for complex electronics.
  • Direct user experience with a requirements management tool such as IBM Rational DOORS, JAMA Connect, or Siemens Polarion preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Ability to work independently with project ownership and proactive problem solving.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and digital interface technologies.
  • Onsite availability with flexibility to support continuous test operations as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience specifying or designing space-based, radiation-hardened electronic components.
  • Experience leading FRB and RCCA processes in production environments.
