The Electrical Engineering team is accountable for all aspects of electronics development for research platforms, wearable transmitters, handheld receivers and test tools. The Hardware Engineer 2 role is responsible for characterization testing of wearable transmitter electronics, focused on system level performance and the BLE / RF subsystem.
Day-to-day duties include working closely with the BLE / RF SMEs, generating / updating test procedures, performing testing and debug, analyzing / documenting test results, holding peer reviews, reporting test results, etc.
RF Circuit Design & Development
" Design, simulate, and optimize RF subsystems (e.g., matching, filters, antennas)
" Work with technologies such as BLE, Wi Fi, NFC, or proprietary wireless solutions

Test Automation & Compliance
" Execute RF validation tests (e.g., range, sensitivity, throughput, coexistence)
" Control of test equipment and data collection with Python a plus.
" Support regulatory testing (FCC, CE, etc.) and pre-compliance activities

Lab Debug & Validation
" Perform RF measurements using VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and power meters
" Debug performance issues (e.g., de-sense, harmonics, spurs, and EMI/EMC)

Prototyping & Bring-Up
" Support board bring-up, tuning, and characterization of RF performance
" Conduct iterative tuning of matching networks and antenna performance

Documentation & Design Controls
" Generate design documentation, test reports, and verification artifacts
" Contribute to design reviews, DFMEA, and risk management

Issue Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
" Analyze field or production issues related to RF performance
" Drive corrective actions and design improvements

Cross-Functional Collaboration
" Work closely with firmware, systems, mechanical, and manufacturing teams
" Support integration of RF subsystems into full product
Work related years of experience: Typically requires a Bachelor s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or Master s degree and 0-2 years equivalent experience.
