Overview

Our client is a leading organisation developing advanced industrial automation and control systems. This role sits within a collaborative, agile engineering team and offers exposure to the full hardware product development lifecycle from concept and circuit design through verification, compliance, and release. It s an excellent opportunity for an experienced hardware engineer who values teamwork, technical excellence, and continuous learning, with clear pathways to expand scope and technical ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop industrial automation hardware as part of an agile, cross functional team, including system architecture and hardware verification
  • Program, analyse, and troubleshoot electronic hardware prototypes
  • Produce clear design documentation, specifications, and test reports
  • Lead technical initiatives such as evaluating new technologies, introducing circuit design tools, and resolving complex hardware failures
  • Collaborate with engineering peers on test automation and design simulation
  • Partner with cross disciplinary teams to strengthen understanding of the end to end product development lifecycle
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in cross functional hardware product development
  • Strong understanding of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic, analogue design, and DC power conversion
  • Experience using design capture tools and reading/understanding schematics
  • Hands on experience with hardware test equipment such as debuggers, oscilloscopes, and logic analysers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to work effectively in team based environments
  • Authorised to work in the United States (no sponsorship available)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience with programmable devices such as CPLDs and FPGAs
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and/or functional safety design
  • Experience working in a scaled agile development environment
  • Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508) and/or EMC standards (e.g. IEC 61000)
  • Demonstrated growth mindset with a willingness to learn, mentor others, and expand technical responsibility
