Our dedicated team of experimental test pilots, engineers, mechanics, and technicians transforms bold ideas into airborne reality using our fleet of jet-powered testbeds.

 

We’re currently seeking a Hangar Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will manage aircraft parts and tool inventory, oversee purchasing activities, and coordinate shipping and receiving to ensure operational readiness across our flight operations. Responsibilities:
  • Manages the inventory for all Calspan and Repair Station aircraft for all flight sites. Ensures proper stock levels through parameters such as lead times, safety stock, reorder points, delivery times and stock locations.  Optimizes part inventory levels through usage analysis and MTBUR.  Works closely with Aircraft Maintenance Manager and Chief Aircraft Inspector to plan parts for maintenance periods.
  • Perform or direct servicing and maintenance, towing, and starting of the assigned aircraft and ground support equipment. Remove and install controls, electrical units, hydraulic components, engines and engine components.  Responsible for mechanical soundness of aircraft.
  • Enters requisitions through the Calspan ERP system for flight sites. Coordinates with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and proper traceability.  Communicates parts status within organization.  Sets vendor quality and delivery metrics.
  • Ships and receives all parts into and out of the Niagara Falls Hangar Facility. Helps to manage and facilitate relationships with shipping companies.  Oversees freight expenditures.
  • Manages the flight tool control and calibration system for Niagara Falls Hangar Facility. Repsonsible for tool control process and ensures accountability.  Sends out tools for calibration and repair.
  • Regularly contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.  Develops solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.  Ensures solutions are consistent with business group and organizational objectives.
Qualifications:

Preferred Education & Experience 

  • Associates/Bachelors in Business or Supply Chain discipline
  • 5+ years experience in materials management and aircraft maintenance in an aerospace organization or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
  • Project Management certification preferred

Preferred Knowledge / Ability

  • Experience setting minimum stock level, reorder points and general inventory best practices
  • Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes
  • Flightdocs experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications.  Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.

Salary Range (min): USD $24.00/Yr. Salary Range (max): USD $28.00/Yr.
