Residential Handyman 

The Residential Handyman Technician supports the Plumbing and HVAC divisions by performing general home‑repair tasks, correcting non‑technical deficiencies, and enhancing the customer experience. This role restores work areas, completes light repairs, and identifies simple additional needs within the home. The Handyman may also recommend and sell maintenance plans or minor repair services.

This position is hourly with an additional commission on all residential maintenance plans or simple add‑on services sold.

Key Responsibilities

Service & Repair

• Perform light home‑repair tasks including drywall patching, painting, caulking, basic trim work, and minor cosmetic fixes.
• Restore areas affected by plumbing or HVAC work to a clean, finished condition.
• Address small issues discovered during plumbing/HVAC service calls (ex: loose fixtures, simple carpentry, minor leaks requiring non‑licensed repair).

Quality & Customer Experience

• Ensure customer homes are left clean, orderly, and professionally finished after trade work is completed.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners regarding completed work and additional repair recommendations.
• Support plumbers and HVAC technicians by handling tasks that do not require a licensed tradesperson.

Sales & Revenue Support

• Identify simple repair opportunities in the home and provide on‑the‑spot solutions when appropriate.
• Educate customers about residential maintenance plans and qualify leads.
• Earn commission on approved add‑on work and maintenance plans sold.

Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with Plumbing and HVAC teams to ensure seamless job completion.
• Provide feedback on recurring installation or service issues that create repeat handyman needs.
• Document work performed accurately within company systems.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a handyman, carpenter, painter, or similar home‑repair role.
• Excellent customer‑service and communication skills.
• Ability to identify small issues and propose practical solutions.
• Valid, clean driver’s license; ability to lift/carry standard materials and tools.
