The Half Graduate Assistant (.5 GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer.

General Statement of Duties
The Career & Internship Data and Operations Half (.5) Graduate Assistant serves in an academic year appointment working approximately 10 hours per week and will report to the Associate Director of Operations and Data Management. This role will contribute to the institutional BSU Works initiative by helping BSU students become career ready. The Half (.5) Graduate Assistant will collaborate with the Associate Director of Operations and Data Management to assist with survey development, data collection, data analysis and reporting. Additionally, this opportunity will offer practical, direct experience collaborating with staff to provide event management, marketing, operations, and logistical support.
The Half (.5) Graduate Assistant will also help to assist with the promotion of services, events, and programs to help the student population develop from student to professional. The Half (.5) Graduate Assistant may represent the Career Services & Internships Office at campus events, in workshop presentations, and various programs and is expected to undertake all responsibilities in a manner that positively reflects the department and university.
Supervision Received
Reports to the Associate Director of Operations and Data Management and is expected to receive some supervision and training by other professional staff in the office.

May assist with supervising student workers in the office as needed for various projects.
Core Duties:
- Assist with the creation of event and program surveys, deploy surveys to stakeholders and assist with the review and reporting of the key data points.
- Review data submissions for errors to ensure clean and correct data is being reported.
- Conduct research on the outcomes of previous graduating classes and to increase the knowledge rate of our First Destination Survey.
- Design the layout for the First Destination Survey and assist with the development of the accompanying report.
- Conduct focus groups with students and provide reporting and presentations on findings.
- Become familiar with the Handshake platform and its reporting capabilities to run basic reports and provide requested data to internal stakeholders.
- Aid the Events and Operations Coordinator with the logistics and management of various department events such as workshops and career fairs.
- Provide operations coverage as needed to provide community members with quality customer service.
- Help promote various department events to faculty/staff, students, and alumni through targeted email marketing via email and automated department systems.
- Promote and instruct students on using Handshake and other online career resources including FOCUS 2, Big Interview, Forage, Parker Dewey, and the new Career Services & Internships website.
- Conduct class visit presentations to promote the resources, events, and programs available through the Career Services & Internships Office.
- Assist with day of operations for various career fairs, networking events, and programs.
- Assist with general office promotion of events, programs, and resources through online and in person outlets such as information tabling.
- Prioritize all projects and requests from the point of inception through final delivery to meet deadlines.
- Represent the office at various campus events, workshops, and trainings.
Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled (or acceptance for enrollment) in a Bridgewater State University graduate program with good academic standing.
- Experience in data analysis and survey design.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in event management/project management.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, team-based office environment.
- Strong organization and planning skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable utilizing a variety of technology with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint), and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn). Knowledge of Canva, Tableau and Qualtrics is preferred.
- Experience with and commitment to issues of diversity within the college campus and the workplace.
- Requires 10 hours per week while school is in session, including some evenings and weekends; other hours by mutual agreement. This position is in person only.
