Summary:
Oversees personnel and daily operations of the human resources department. Applies company policy and procedures to consistently support employees and operations to meed company objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilites:
- Acknowledges legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Recruit, interview, test and select employees to fill vacant positions.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Keep recoreds of benefits, plans participation, such as insurance and pension plans, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procurdures, and programs.
- Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization.
- Administer salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.
- Administer benefits programs such as disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absences and employee assistance.
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Prepare reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Represent organization at peronnel related hearings and investigations.
- Contract with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as canteen, transportation, or relocation services.
- Ensures compliance with process and procedures and specific directives of the functional department director.
- Effectively manages HRIS and payroll systems and processes.
- Reports Applicable HR metrics/ analytics and takes initiative to imporve procedures and processes.
- Ensures understanding, training, and fairness of performance management (appraisal) processes.
- Supports and leads organizational development efforts at the site including but not limited to employee development, succession planning, career paths and department or organizational needs. Coordinated management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Partners with GM's, Plant Managers, and other staff members to lead and continuously improve the business.
- Leads and supports communication and employee engagement activities.
- Leads and supports community support activities.
- Any other duties assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervise employees in the Human Resource Department.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.

- Basic math skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concret variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variet of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Basic computer skills.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferred.
- Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training.\
- Professional cerifications, preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work in an office environment with exposure to a manufacturing plant/environment.
