H&H Drainage Civil Engineer

A locally owned civil engineering consulting firm in Austin is seeking a Drainage / Stormwater H&H Engineer to support a strong pipeline of transportation and public infrastructure projects across Central Texas.This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative team working on major public infrastructure programs, including transportation corridors, light rail initiatives, stormwater systems, flood control, and water quality projects. The firm offers a strong balance of technical depth, mentorship, and career growth while remaining small enough for engineers to take real ownership of their work.Responsibilities Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and analysis for transportation and public infrastructure projectsSupport drainage design including storm drain systems, ditches, culverts, detention facilities, and water quality controlsConduct stormwater modeling and hydraulic calculations using industry-standard softwarePrepare drainage reports, technical documentation, construction cost estimates, and PS&E deliverablesCoordinate with roadway, transportation, and multidisciplinary project teamsSupport drainage impact analysis, watershed delineation, and floodplain evaluationsCommunicate with project managers, engineers, and public agency clients as neededDepending on experience, support junior staff development and assist with task or project coordinationQualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental EngineeringPE license in Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months of hireApproximately 4–10+ years of experience in H&H and drainage engineeringStrong background in transportation drainage or public infrastructure projects preferredExperience independently performing H&H modeling and drainage design workProficiency with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS required or strongly preferredExperience with tools such as XP-SWMM, PCSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, StormCAD, CivilStorm, or similarFamiliarity with Civil 3D, MicroStation/ORD, and GIS platforms (ArcGIS preferred)Experience preparing drainage reports and PS&E deliverables in accordance with agency standardsWhy This Opportunity?
